Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking Journeyman Welders - by hand, to join the team at our Bonnyville Fabrication Shop.

No Rig Welders and position not open to DSP's

Local candidates preferred, but willing to consider non local candidates (will provide room in company housing but no per diem for meals or travel allowance or travel would be provided)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair welding and fabrication equipment to keep the shop running smoothly.
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding tools for MIG, FCAW, and SMAW processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to produce quality welds.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and fit metal components for custom builds, structural frames, and shop fixtures.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality—rework when needed to meet spec.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on welding machines and related tools.
  • Contribute to shop safety and help improve our day-to-day workflows.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment failures and identifying root causes.
  • Collaborate on scheduling and planning for production runs and custom projects.
  • Take on additional duties as needed—flexibility is key in our dynamic shop!

Role Specifications and Requirements:

  • Journeyman Welder certification (Red Seal is a big plus)
  • B Pressure Certification required
  • 2+ years' experience in custom fabrication welding
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of welding processes and shop tools
  • Experience in MIG, Flux Cored Arc (FCAW), and Stick/SMAW an asset
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and working in a fabrication shop environment
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
