Job Description

Working in the Operational Space Planning and Projects team within Capital Development, the Project Manager, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFE), will report directly to the Senior Project Manger, Operational Space Planning, Project and FFE. The Project Manager will act as one of the hospital's representatives in discussions with a multi-disciplinary team of hospital professionals, department end-users, architects and consultants in the planning and development of FFE requirements and for the day-to-day management and oversight of the implementation of the minor capital projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the Senior Project Manager with the day-to-day activities associated with the implementation of the redevelopment project, including liaison with hospital user groups, hospital management, design team, contractor, municipality, William Osler Health System Foundation, Infrastructure Ontario, Ministry of Health capital team and other stakeholder groups to ensure the project remains within developed project parameters
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the field of FFE, capable of making recommendations and decisions and be an active link between clinical groups and the HealthWorks projects
  • Provide subject matter expertise and input into furnishing and finishes and coordination with building design
  • Review equipment lists for accuracy, ensuring utilities, equipment quantities and specifications meet the requirements of the program; use knowledge of Osler standards and current FFE to inform equipment lists and specifications
  • Review drawings to ensure FFE placement and fitment is reflected accurately
  • Provide input into procurement specifications to ensure the needs of the hospital are met during procurement and that specifications align with the building design
  • Develop FFE procurement documentation including scoring criteria; analysis of responses to RF(x); assistance in negotiating, awarding, and implementing in conjunction with internal and external representatives
  • Work with vendors, project coordinator, and Mohawk Medbuy to coordinate the delivery, training, installation and commissioning of new FFE and ensure appropriate documentation is maintained
  • Participate in the FFE deficiency checking process
  • Effectively communicate to team members and other involved parties in a timely and clear fashion
  • Manage the daily operational aspects of a project providing project management expertise and guidance, enforcing project standards, anticipating and troubleshooting issues and minimizing the hospital's exposure to risk
  • Develop, manage, and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Performs cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required
  • Collaborate and track with consultants to respond to requests for information and shop drawing submissions; confirm project information (review of drawings, specifications, etc.); confirm payment authorizations, etc. to ensure all construction related activities and requests are addressed in a timely manner and within the contract terms
  • Ensure end-user decanting and relocation is planned and executed efficiently, effectively and according to schedule
  • Facilitate planning logistics and implementation of new and transferred equipment requirements
  • Work in compliance with the Ontario building code, CSA infection control standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations; reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions in a timely manner, per current industry standards and regulations
  • Work under own initiative to drive project processes while displaying energy and enthusiasm within the role and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Provide direct project management support for other concurrent projects as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
  • University degree or college diploma in architecture, interior design, a health care related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • PMP® certification is considered an asset
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the planning, specification, selection and/or experience in procurement of hospital FFE
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including development and monitoring of budgets and schedule
  • Outstanding organization, priority setting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated work in a team environment
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate computer skills, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Teams (AutoCAD would be an asset)
  • Travel between all Osler sites may be required

Hours: Currently days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Onsite First: Roles that frequently support direct patient care and have dedicated hours when they are available to patients, team members and/or other partners

Annual Salary:
Minimum: $ 85,839.00
Maximum: $107,308.50
