POSITION: Journeyman Carpenter

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is partnering with Trend Home Improvements, a locally owned renovation company that has proudly served the Grande Prairie & Peace Country region for over 40 years. They are looking for a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join their dynamic construction and renovation team. This position provides the freedom and stability associated with a small project company, offering a diverse range of work and projects that allow you to build strong relationships with clients and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the installation of flooring, cabinets, doors, windows, decks, and execute interior finishing tasks with precision
  • Build house additions, garages, and shops, overseeing the entire process from framing to finishing
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure project specifications are met
  • Schedule and coordinate the work of subtrades on renovation projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards
  • Safely and efficiently operate skid steers, forklifts, and telehandlers to facilitate construction activities
  • Ensure all work adheres to building codes and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment
  • Keep the work site clean and organized to enhance safety and efficiency
  • Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced carpenters, fostering skill development and teamwork
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during construction, applying critical thinking and trade knowledge

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyman Carpenter Certification
  • Significant experience in renovation construction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges on-site
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy materials
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
