Safety Advisors are to ensure, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard. Working independently in a customer-oriented environment, the Safety Advisor must work well to maximize efficiency while demonstrating a strong initiative and safety focus.
This is a casual position where the successful applicant(s) will be required to report to work between 22:00 and 01:00. They will conduct a site safety walk at two separate facilities, utilizing a company vehicle for transport between locations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Thoroughly inspect workplaces, equipment, to identify potential hazards and non-compliance with safety regulations.
- Recognize potential hazards related to machinery, plant equipment and environmental issues.
- Assess risks and determine the severity of potential hazards.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Programs; conduct job hazard analysis, immediately report unsafe working conditions or equipment
- Ensure the site is clean, tidy, organized, and a safe workplace at all times
- Drive company truck in night conditions
- Able to Work evenings and weekends
- Use personal cell phone to contact Supervisor if safety issues arise
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- We are looking for an honest, dependable, reliable, hard-working individual.
- Medically fit to work in a safety sensitive environment; physically fit including the ability to pull self up and down
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Able to accept new challenges and responsibilities as they arise
- Able to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to work independently
Education & Experience
- Training will be provided; Must be able to hold and maintain required certification.
- Must hold a valid class 5 driver's license
