In this role, you will report to the Team Lead, Technical Risks. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing the risks of files submitted by brokers and underwriting requests while ensuring the quality of risks meets the required standards for optimal profitability.

Main Responsibilities

• Liaise between brokers and insurers to negotiate and determine insurance terms and conditions.
• Develop, underwrite and service new business in accordance with the guidelines of the various programs and contracts or as a wholesaler
• Collaborate with colleagues on current and future opportunities
• Underwrite and service renewals according to program and contract guidelines
• Verify and master insurance policies, wordings and standards
• Ensure that underwriting standards reflect contracts and meet program needs
• Initiate and maintain a privileged relationship with brokers by offering them top-quality service
• Represent the company at industry events, as required
• Develop business relationships with existing and new brokers through marketing visits

Profile

• 3 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience.
• AEC, DEC or insurance broker's license a strong asset
• CRM, CIP or FCIP an asset
• Experience in MGA, an asset.
• Excellent active listening and empathy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time well and analyze effectively.
• Quick and informed decision-making in complex situations.
• Proactive, with a strong sense of change, responsibility, and priorities.
