Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Material Manager to join our home improvement retail team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the selection, organization, presentation, and inventory of sales materials and merchandise related to building supplies, renovation products, and home improvement solutions. The ideal candidate will combine retail management expertise with product knowledge and visual merchandising skills to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Material Oversight:
- Manage the procurement, display, and rotation of product samples, brochures, signage, and point-of-sale (POS) materials.
- Ensure all sales materials align with brand standards and effectively support product sales.
- Product & Merchandising Management:
- Oversee the organization and presentation of home improvement products, including flooring, paint, tools, hardware, fixtures, and more.
- Implement seasonal and promotional displays that attract customers and increase sales.
- Inventory & Vendor Coordination:
- Track inventory levels of sales materials and coordinate with vendors and suppliers for restocking and new product introductions.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage, costs, and vendor performance.
- Sales Team Support:
- Work closely with sales associates to ensure they are equipped with the latest materials, tools, and product information.
- Train staff on how to use sales materials effectively to close sales.
- Data & Performance Monitoring:
- Analyze the effectiveness of materials and merchandising efforts using sales data and customer feedback.
- Adjust strategies based on insights to optimize product visibility and customer engagement.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all merchandising complies with safety regulations and store policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all displays and material storage areas.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in home improvement, hardware, or building materials.
- Strong knowledge of home improvement products and their applications.
- Experience in visual merchandising and retail display management.
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficient with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with planograms and retail layout planning.
- Experience with B2B contractor sales or showroom sales.
- Basic knowledge of construction or DIY trends and materials.
