New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Temporary Marketing Coordinator - Community Engagement at our Resource Office in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

What youll do:

  • Support the Director of Community Engagement in planning, coordinating, and executing sponsorship opportunities, including evaluating incoming requests and supporting ongoing community partnerships
  • Manage and coordinate all donation requests, ensuring alignment with the organizations community investment strategy, values, and budget. Maintain accurate records, track impact, and prepare reports as needed
  • Identify and explore new opportunities for community involvement, outreach, and engagement that align with strategic objectives
  • Create and support internal and external communications related to community initiatives, including content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to customers in a manner that builds a positive community and encourages engagement
  • Foster strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and local organizations to enhance the organization's presence and impact
  • Attend and assist with planning of Co-op sponsored events
  • Perform additional duties as required

Who you are and what you have:

  • 1-2 years of experience in community engagement, preferably in the retail industry
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Passion for community building and representing the organization in a positive, professional manner
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities, stakeholders, and partners
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekend as required for events
  • Knowledge of local community needs and resources is considered a strong asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and community requests
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team environment
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, and comfortable with public speaking
