Overview of Position:
We currently seeking a Manager to join our tax practice. This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual whom is committed to a career in taxation of owner managed business, personal taxes and has experience or desire to work with cross border tax, trust and estate taxes and other tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients. The role of Manager will require experience in managing multiple staff and working with other managers, partners and other divisions.
Requirements of Position:
Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
Minimum of two years in a supervisor or manager level position in public practice
Minimum five years of experience with Canadian tax (US tax a plus)
A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of Canadian income taxation
Strong knowledge in compilation standards, accounting and financial statement preparation
Strong communication skills with clients and ability to run jobs with the clients from start to finish
experience and proficiency in project management, scheduling and supervising of staff
Experience in issues relevant to owner managed businesses
Experience in foreign reporting and cross border issues a plus
Experience in capital dividends, ABILs, restructuring, working with large groups, a plus
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines
Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and develop team members
Proficiency in Taxprep (or similar), CaseWare, Microsoft Office
Desire to work on technology and cloud application development and implementation
