This position can be in either our existing Charlottetown, PEI office, or a new office in HRM, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be part of an electrical design team where they will be expected to work independently with attention to detail on projects of varying size and complexity for healthcare, municipal, commercial, and industrial applications, including design and drafting of low voltage power distribution, lighting, motor controls, fire alarm, communications and security systems.
Responsibilities
· Business development
· Meeting with clients throughout the project process
· Designing various electrical building systems
· Preparing and verifying drawings and specifications
· Providing assistance during tender, including issuing addenda
· Reviewing shop drawings
· Providing construction support for projects, including site meetings/inspections, answering questions from contractors and etc.
Qualifications
· Registration (or ability to register with) Engineers PEI and Engineers NS.
· Minimum 3-4 years' experience as a professional engineer.
· Strong communication skills, ability to meet with various clients and contractors
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well-written reports and technical specifications.
· Ability to plan, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
· Ability to work independently and take initiative.
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Strong experience in Microsoft Office.
· Experience with AutoCAD.
· Experience with Revit an asset.
Valid driver's license.
