NOTE: This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position in downtown Vancouver. 3 set days in the office and 2 WFH.
Job Overview:
As a Front-End Engineer at Spring, you independently deliver user-facing features, handling both client-side logic and back-end integrations. You design performant, testable, maintainable, and accessible systems, balancing user experience with engineering and operational needs.
You lead implementation of moderately complex features from shared UI libraries to dashboards and tools. While front-end is your strength, you're comfortable working across the stack, contributing to and debugging APIs and back-end services. You simplify complexity and promote consistent, high-quality design. Youre responsible for testing what you ship: unit tests, UI integration, cross-service flows, and manual validation. You contribute to CI workflows, prevent regressions, and ensure performance and accessibility across devices.
You also collaborate closely with product and design to shape features, clarify scope, and align functionality with real user needs especially for internal tools and operations systems. You help bridge the gap between design and technical implementation.
What youll do:
- Deliver full-stack features with a strong emphasis on front-end quality and user experience.
- Design and build accessible, responsive UIs that meet performance and usability standards.
- Contribute to backend logic and service integrations where needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in code structure, accessibility, and testing.
- Drive improvements to the teams tooling, workflows, and development velocity.
- Participate in incident response, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.
- Help identify UX or architectural gaps and propose forward-looking solutions.
What You Should Already Have:
- 3+ years of experience in front-end or full-stack development.
- Proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS methodologies, and frameworks like React or Vue.
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and contributing to backend services.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
- Ability to mentor others, give constructive feedback, and work collaboratively across functions.
What We Will Give You:
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $115,000+, reflective of experience and impact.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and vision coverage with 100% of monthly premiums covered by the Spring.
- GRSP matching program to support your long-term financial goals.
- Transit-Friendly Employer (Transit allowance).
- A modern, collaborative workspace in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
- Ongoing career growth opportunities
