Tangent Design Engineering is seeking an Office Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and is driven by a passion for organization, detail, and creating seamless operational excellence. Working closely with our innovative teams, you will ensure the smooth functioning of our daily operations, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional results to our clients.

Were looking for a professional, proactive individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has an ability to switch tasks and priorities regularly. At Tangent, you will be integral in fostering strong relationships with our clients, vendors, and internal team members, ensuring every interaction aligns with our values of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.

Note: This position is based on-site at our Calgary, AB office from Monday to Friday.

Day-to-day responsibilities of the Office Manager include:

  • Managing bookkeeping tasks including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, T4s, GST payments, and client invoicing
  • Answering and directing incoming calls professionally
  • Greeting and assisting guests, vendors, and managing initial receipt of deliveries
  • Organizing client and staff meetings, events, and functions
  • Managing office supplies and ensuring our board room is always ready for guests and team meetings as required
  • Preparing corporate and departmental reports efficiently
  • Supporting logistics (such as shipping and receiving) as required

On your resume, we are seeking the following qualifications:

  • 5-7 years in office administration, bookkeeping, or related roles
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping practices (Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll)
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Office Management, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), QuickBooks; experience with Ruddr or other project management software is beneficial

  • Discuss your approach to organization, prioritization, switching tasks and maintaining attention to detail
  • Explain how you have effectively handled administrative challenges and improved processes in previous roles
