About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator, the Medical Office Assistant is responsible for the coordination of new client intake and administrative duties that support our Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinics, which operate throughout Guelph and Wellington County as both in person and mobile clinics. This role also provides support to the virtual RAAM Clinic which operate throughout Waterloo-Wellington.

Hours of Work: Full Time (Contract - approx. 12 months)
Location:Guelph-Wellington area (Fergus, Guelph, Remote)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, Days

Role Responsibilities:

Reception and Health Records Duties

  • Welcoming and directing visitors and patients and directing visitors/patients
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Collecting and recording patient and service delivery data and information
  • Referring patients to other staff as appropriate
  • Maintaining, updating, and filing patient charts
  • Coordinating appropriate collection and distribution of patient records, reports, and forms while maintaining patient confidentiality and relevant privacy standards for personal health information
  • Manage incoming calls and coordinating drop-in appointments

Other Duties

  • Collaborating with other members of the RAAM Team to ensure all clinic duties/responsibilities are fulfilled
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, chart reviews, case conferences, and other meetings and committees as appropriate to support both service delivery and organizational goals

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma program relating to office administration (Medical Office Administration preferred)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with customers and handling a fast-paced office environment required, preferably in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of community resources an asset
  • Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asse
  • Standard First Aid/CPR + AED, Level C
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening Check required (CSC Clearance by PWGSC may be required in addition to VSS check)
  • Standard First Aid/CPR + AED, Level C
  • Reliable (Own) Transportation to travel to clinic locations
