Summary:

We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team in a standalone role, with a with a key focus on leading the payroll system transition from ADP to Dayforce. You will be the organization's go-to expert for all payroll-related matters, responsible for payroll processing, compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and collaboration with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently process hourly & salaried bi-weekly payrolls for US and Canadian employees (ADP & CoAdvantage), ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions; ensure appropriate tax withholdings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries across the organization.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all payroll-related legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee Time & Attendance system administration.
  • Manage expense reporting via Concur.
  • Process ROEs, wage garnishments, statutory remittances (e.g., WSIB, EHT), and benefit deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accurate general ledger allocation.
  • Submit employee contributions to RRSP/401(k) plans and manage year-end reporting, including tax slips (T4s, W-2s, etc.).
  • Prepare payroll metrics, dashboards, and custom reports; support forecasting for Finance and HR.
  • Lead the payroll system implementation to Dayforce, including testing, parallel runs, and data validation.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data and processes to ensure integrity and compliance.
  • Continuously assess and improve payroll procedures, documentation, and controls.
Requirements and Skills:
  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience across both Canadian and US jurisdictions.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification required; Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation preferred.
  • Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or Dayforce highly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll system implementations or upgrades is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting and payroll-related GL reconciliations.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments and with external vendors.
  • Self-starter who thrives working independently in a high-change, fast-moving environment.
