The Role:
We are seeking a Hands-on Director of IT to lead our technology infrastructure and drive digital innovation initiatives at a rapidly growing medical device company. This role entails overseeing the secure and compliant design, implementation, and management of all IT systems. Responsibilities include enterprise applications, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data systems, all in accordance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 13485, HIPAA, GDPR, and PHIPA.

Strategy & Planning:
- Lead and grow the infrastructure, IT Operations & Security functions at Myant
- Develop the corporate IT and security strategy for Myant in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development of application infrastructure strategy
- Evaluate and implement scalable systems to support business growth, including ERP, QMS, and CRM platforms.
- Identify the most efficient and effective use of both in-house and out-sourced services for cloud applications, data center, computing, information security, data and voice networks, storage, systems, and infrastructure services.
- Evaluate emerging technologies (AI, IoT, edge computing) for potential integration into company strategy.
Operations:
- Manage the design, documentation, implementation, and daily operations of a reliable, secure, optimized, efficient, and scalable corporate network & application infrastructure that supports the delivery of exceptional Member and employee experiences.
- Develop, document, and implement procedures and schedules for maintaining the network and ensuring timely patch management.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure data integrity and audit-readiness.
- Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, and Clinical teams to support product development and system integrations
- Manage production incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation, and effective communication to business, technology, and vendor partner.
- Develop, implement, and test the IT elements in the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
- Establish and operate a team to provide level 2 support as part of our customer support planning efforts.
- Manage third-party vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance and cost efficiency.
Compliance and Security
- Ensure IT systems comply with Health Canada, FDA, HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 13485 standards.
- Lead risk management initiatives, including business continuity and disaster recovery
- planning.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee Myants cybersecurity program ensuring Myant is able to identify and detect threats, and protect, respond, and recover from threats and incidents.
- Execute security management tasks including the monitoring, installation, and activation of malicious software protection tools, applying security protocols to network connectivity, managing user identity and logical access, and providing security data as needed when investigations arises.
- Act as the Security and Data Protection Officer at Myant.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Conduct research on emerging cloud technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
- Remain informed on trends and issues in the IT and security industries, including current and emerging technologies and prices; advise, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance and financial impact.
- Identify new technologies necessary to support a high-tech, high-touch business strategy and develop recommendations and business cases where necessary for presentation to senior management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 in a regulated industry
- (preferably medical device, biotech, or pharma).
- Strong knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Proven track record with systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Plex, MasterControl.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), cybersecurity frameworks, andenterprise architecture.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting connected medical devices or software as a medical device
- (SaMD).
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) and design control systems.
- ITIL, PMP, or CISSP certifications are a plus.
