The Inside Sales Representative Fire Systems & Technical Services position will be responsible for providing daily support to the Technical Services team through:

  • Sourcing products and product information to support customer requirements
  • Supporting order management through preparation of order entry and quotes for inspections and deficiency repairs for the Fire Alarm, Extinguisher, Emergency Lighting, Kitchen Fire Suppression, Fixed Gas Detection and/or Sprinkler systems.
  • Helping prepare bids and submission of documentation
  • Maintaining sales documents including modifications
  • Assisting in resolution of customer concerns and inquiries
  • Maintaining vendor and product information in the ERP system
  • Participating in product training within the business unit, the company and customers
  • Ensuring high quality of customer service

The successful candidate would bring with them a variety of competencies that would complement and strengthen the team including:

  • Skills in reviewing inspection reports to evaluate deficiencies and required repairs
  • Comprehension of technical designs, drawings, specifications
  • Professional and customer service focused mindset
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgement in the development of recommendations and proposals
  • Ability evaluate and resolve client inquiries and requirements both independently and, where necessary, engaging team members
  • Excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Commitment to support the safe execution of high-quality work

Our preferred experience and training credentials for this role are noted below.

  • NOTE: All combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years experience in a fast-paced, sales support role
  • Experience or familiarity in the fire protection and/or construction industry would be considered an asset
  • Post secondary training in a technical discipline or trades certificate would be considered an asset
  • Experience with using computerized purchasing and warehousing ERP systems
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office is must.
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant and applicable national and local building and fire codes and NFPA would be considered an asset.
  • Candidates who advance through the hiring process will be required to submit a current Certificate of Conduct and Drivers abstract.
