Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced contract Technical Program Manager for a 12-month engagement to oversee and deliver critical IT infrastructure projects. The Technical Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of complex, multi-location programs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Facilities & Datacenter IT infrastructure, exceptional project management capabilities, and experience working in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Program Management & Leadership
oManage multiple concurrent projects across diverse geographical locations, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
oPartner with cross-functional teams, including IT, Facilities, Supply Chain, and third-party vendors, to achieve project objectives.
oProactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and dependencies.
2.Project Execution
oLead the design and implementation of network, telecom, WiFi, video conferencing, and related office technology infrastructure for corporate HQ and supply chain site expansions in the US, Canada, and Switzerland.
oOversee a private cloud infrastructure refresh, including Nutanix, HP, and Cisco UCS environments.
oManage the consolidation and refresh of on-premise EMC VNX and Pure Storage environments.
oDirect the refresh and standardization of UPS environments across 15 office and manufacturing locations in the US and Canada.
oDrive cleanup and standardization of network and server rack cabling across 10 office and manufacturing locations in the US and Canada.
oDevelop and implement a roadmap for the Rubrik backup environment spanning 20 global locations.
3.Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
oAct as the primary point of contact between internal teams, leadership, and external vendors/partners.
oEnsure timely and clear communication of project updates, milestones, and challenges to all stakeholders.
oCollaborate with IT leadership to align project goals with organizational priorities.
4.Budget and Vendor Management
oManage project budgets, including procurement, vendor contracts, and cost controls.
oNegotiate with vendors to ensure delivery of services and products that meet quality and performance standards.
Qualifications:
•Experience:
oMinimum 8-10 years of experience in IT project/program management, with at least 5 years leading large-scale technical infrastructure projects.
oProven track record of delivering projects in multinational organizations with geographically dispersed teams.
•Technical Expertise:
oDeep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, private cloud, storage, backup, and UPS systems.
oFamiliarity with technologies such as Nutanix, Cisco UCS, EMC VNX, Pure Storage, and Rubrik.
oExperience with structured cabling design and implementation, working with Architects, General Contractors, and Subcontractors.
•Skills:
oStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and generate weekly status & progress reports for senior leadership team.
oExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
oSpecific proficiency with industry-standard project management tools and methodologies (e.g., SmartSheet, Monday, Jira, Agile/Waterfall).
•Education:
oBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
oPMP, Agile, or similar certification strongly preferred.
•Additional Requirements:
oFlexibility to work on-site in Toronto 3-4 days per week and travel quarterly as needed.
oAuthorization to work in the Canada, able to travel to US if needed.
