What Makes This Role Great:

• This is a great opportunity for a co-op student who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to gain real-world experience in the energy sector. As a Meter Technician Summer co-op, you'll be involved in the installation and maintenance of metering and energy management systems, playing a key role in supporting essential field operations. This role is ideal for students with MEARIE or similar training who are based in the GTA and open to travel within the region—and occasionally across Ontario. You'll gain practical experience, work alongside experienced technicians, and develop valuable skills in electrical systems, field service, and energy management—making it a strong stepping stone for a future career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical services in the areas of electrical systems, metering, power systems and energy management services
• Install, test, and commission retail and wholesale metering systems
• Complete all types of maintenance work on retail and wholesale metering installations
• Able to manage projects with minimal supervision to completion
• Perform design, configuration, installation, and on-site configuration and maintenance of metering, SCADA and energy management systems, including hardware, software, communications and end-user training
• Enforce safe work procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain client communications, safety and work documentation
• Ensure Rodan meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal, provincial and local regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a related technical field (e.g. electrical engineering, electrical technician/technologist) or other relevant work experience
• Completed or working towards Journeyperson Meter Technician Certification or equivalent
• Background in electrical power distribution, metering, protection and control or electrical systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively complete tasks
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
• A valid Class ‘G' Ontario Driver's License, driver's insurance and an excellent driving record
• Knowledge of and experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office
• First Aid & CPR certificates and knowledge of EUSA and the OHSA are assets
