Reports To: Senior Scientific Advisor
Salary: Commensurate with level of experience; plus a defined benefit pension plan (HOOPP)
Hours: 35hours/week

Status: One (1)- full-time, temporary for four (4) months; One (1)- full-time, temporary for eight (8) months
Position Summary
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking two (2) Students, Biology to join the Drug Discovery team.
Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with graduate students and scientists to learn required laboratory skills
- Become competent in basic mammalian tissue culture technique and maintain cell lines
- Conduct biochemical and cell-based assays to test small molecule compounds
- Collaborate effectively with the biology team
- Communicate effectively with internal collaborators
- Adhere to all OICR safety guidelines and policies and act as a positive example to peers
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a BSc in cell biology or a related area
- Some experience in basic biology laboratory techniques
- Basic knowledge of cancer biology
- Great team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter who is willing to adapt to a changing environment
