MISSION
As a Landscape Crew Member & Pesticide Specialist, you will support the landscaping team in a flexible, multi-functional role throughout the summer season and transition to a winter crew member at the end of the season. Youll contribute to the health and beauty of our clients properties by engaging in lawn care, flowerbed maintenance, property enhancements, and landscape construction support. A valid Landscape Exterminator License or Pesticide Applicators Certificate/License and a valid drivers license are mandatory, as you will be responsible for applying pesticides and operating company vehicles, including pickup trucks with trailers. Outside of pesticide-related duties, you will rotate between other crews to support overall team operations.
DELIVERABLES AND ROLE EXPECTATIONS:
- Pesticide Application: Safely apply herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides to turf, gardens, or landscaped areas, following legal, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate company pickup trucks and trailers for transporting tools, materials, and nursery stock between job sites.
- Lawn & Garden Maintenance: Perform upkeep tasks including mowing, edging, watering, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, and seasonal planting.
- Planting & Transplanting: Assist in installing or relocating flowers, shrubs, trees, and sod.
- Equipment Use: Operate and maintain landscape tools such as blowers, mowers, trimmers, and hedge cutters.
- Team Rotation: Collaborate across grass, flower, maintenance, and construction crews as needed.
- Site Cleanliness: Maintain tidy and hazard-free work environments.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally and respectfully when interacting with clients on-site.
- Safety & Compliance: Wear required PPE, follow health and safety standards, and adhere to company policies.
- Tool Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and daily checks on all assigned tools and equipment.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Mandatory Valid Landscape Exterminator License or Pesticide Applicators License/Certification
- Valid G Drivers License with clean driver abstract
- Prior landscaping experience in maintenance, grass, or flower crews. (preferred)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor summer conditions for extended periods.
- Skilled in the use of landscaping equipment and small tools.
- Comfortable switching between different teams and tasks depending on daily operations.
- Strong verbal communication; English proficiency is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles safely and maintain a clean driving record.
WORK CONDITION
- Outdoor Work: Conducted in varied weather including sun, rain, heat, and humidity.
- Physically Demanding: Requires lifting, standing, bending, and repetitive tasks.
- Mobile Work: Involves travel between multiple sites using company vehicles and trailers.
- Potential for Winter Work (Full-time): While this is a seasonal position, candidates who demonstrate strong performance and reliability may be considered for winter season roles.
