Program Overview
The JVS Toronto Employment Source office, provides a range of Employment Ontario services at one location, including information and referral services, one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops, and job development placement services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds and skills to help them gain employment within their field or a related field.
We're looking for someone who will:
• Make reminder calls and texts to clients about workshops and appointments
• Inform and register clients for workshops
• Compile new and updated materials for clients
• Provide reception coverage: answer telephones efficiently and accurately
• Assist clients in the Resource Centre
• Provide clerical support, format documents, set up tracking sheets, enter information, etc.
• Organize supplies and documents, and archive old client files
• Assist other JVS Toronto locations remotely if needed
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• Enrolled in, or a graduate of a post-secondary school program
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Computer literate in software used by the agency (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• A clear Police Check and Vulnerable Sector check is required
Under the terms of our government funding, you must meet the following requirements:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
• Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
• Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations;
• Hold a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
• Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
