The 2025-26 faculty grid for this position is $73,263 to $112,656 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range.

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator who thrives in a dynamic, innovative environment? Mulgrave School is seeking a highly motivated MYP Music Teacher to join our Middle School team and inspire our students in their exploration of music.

As an educator here, you will have the unique opportunity to teach students in Grades 6-10 within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning while providing a safe and inclusive space where every student belongs.


The Middle School Music Teacher will teach MYP Integrated Performing Arts in Grades 6-9. MYP Integrated Performing Arts is an innovative program that emphasizes the interconnectedness and diversity of music and performing arts from around the world.

They will also lead a range of LEAP electives and co-curricular music performance ensembles; Mulgrave ensembles perform regularly at the school and in the community, including participation in festivals such as Banff, Sun Peaks and Whistler.

What Youll Do:

  • Teach MYP (Grades 6-9) Integrated Performing Arts courses
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of and passion for middle years education
  • Connect with and inspire students to outstanding levels of achievement in the performing arts
  • Teach three Middle School LEAP elective courses to support student enrichment in music and performing arts
  • Oversee various Upper School (Grade 6-12) ensembles, depending on skills and experience
  • Serve as Homeroom Advisor for a group of approximately 12 Middle School students
  • Supervise Extended Essays, as assigned by the Principal
  • Build a strong sense of community through the co-curricular music programme, built around the inherent joy in making music as an ensemble
  • Develop and implement a clear plan for personal growth as a music educator

Who you are:

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work visa).
  • BC Teacher Certification or the ability to obtain it before beginning employment.
  • A deep understanding of MYP or a willingness to learn and implement the IB framework.
  • An enthusiasm for connecting with students both in and out of the classroom, whether through athletics, clubs, or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience with the IB MYP or DP and a genuine passion for international education is an asset
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively in a team while also excelling independently.
