What are the Responsibilities?
- Oversee both Production and Warehousing operations within a busy, fast-based food/beverage manufacturing and distribution environment
- Manage and support production and warehouse supervisors.
- Drive organizational goals, play a key role in strategic planning for the plant.
- Ensure production meets company standards, along with customer and consumer expectations pertaining to safety, quality, and environment, while effectively controlling cost.
- Constantly monitor production and warehousing operations to identify problems before they arise and proactively roll out solutions.
- Play a key role in bridging the company and union, establish/improve union relations to ensure employee satisfaction and business health.
- Audit-support, actively participate in developing and carrying out action plans as required.
- Serve as a change agent, promote a clear vision, and enrich plant culture.
- Manage plant budget, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and drive action plans for improvement when targets are not met.
- Participate in developing annual plant budget, capital expenditures, and project planning
- Promote positive corporate culture, interdepartmental collaboration, and employee engagement
- Perform regular plant walk-throughs (Gemba Walks) to observe, monitor activities and plant cleanliness, and communicate with employees.
- Spearhead continuous improvement activities
- Other duties as required
What are the Requirements?
- Minimum 3 years of management experience, ideally overseeing both production and warehousing.
- Post-secondary education in operations, management, or a related technical program (production, warehousing, process engineering, operations, etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment - this is non-negotiable, candidates without union experience will not be considered.
- Lean/6 Sigma Expertise - no belt requirement, but yellow or above would be desirable
- Experience dealing with raw/short shelf-life ingredients and finished product
