Job Summary:
As the first User Experience Designer on our team, you will play a foundational role in shaping the usability and experience of our products. You will be an integral member of an empowered product team, ensuring that our product solutions are not only functional but also intuitive and effective for our users. Your role will prioritize usability, user flows, and research-driven design decisions while supporting the overall product vision.
While visual design is not the primary focus, you should have a strong grasp of design principles and be comfortable creating wireframes and prototypes to communicate ideas effectively. You will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to champion user needs and drive product success.
Job Duties:
- Conduct user research to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors.
- Develop user personas, use cases, and journey maps to guide product development.
- Define and refine user workflows, ensuring smooth and efficient task completion.
- Design wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-level interaction flows.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to align designs with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Facilitate usability testing and iterate on design solutions based on data and feedback.
- Advocate for UX best practices within the organization and help establish design processes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, interaction design, or a related field.
- Understanding of a variety of user research methods and when to use each approach.
- Experience mapping user workflows and optimizing task efficiency within applications.
- Proficiency in wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar.
- Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable design insights.
- Ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally within product teams.
- Familiarity with designing for complex & technical software applications is a plus.
