POSITION SUMMARY
The Advanced Quality Planning Coordinator will oversee quality planning for high-risk builds, ensuring actions are taken to prevent defects before line entry. This includes tracking progress through an issues matrix and collaborating with CPM, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and customers during preproduction meetings. The role also ensures alignment on New Flyer Testing and Product Quality specifications with customers before line entry.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Oversee Advanced Quality Planning function for their plant
- Investigate and review all relevant information in preparation for upcoming builds of high-risk customers/contracts
- Assist/conduct training to Production/QA on process/testing implementation changes
- Lead/support plant cross functional teams through the Manufacturing Readiness Assessment and develop the open issues matrix
- Attend Pre-production meetings and present the New Flyer Quality system presentations to customers
- Work with various manufacturing groups to organize and implement recommendations or process/testing changes in order to comply with contractual requirements
- Assist/conduct training to Production/QA on process/testing implementation changes
- Develop initial in-process inspection plan for Live Bus
- Additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Diploma in quality control, or quality management
- 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on quality, corrective and preventative actions
- Effective critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of quality control, manufacturing, production and product knowledge and customer relations
- Strong presentation skills; ability to conduct meetings with customers and various levels of the Organization
- Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in Oracle operations considered an asset
- Ability to read blueprints and determine design requirements form related specification
