As a key player in project identification, design, and management, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of DER (Distributed Energy Resources) initiatives, working with emerging technologies such as energy storage, microgrids, solar PV, and CHP systems. Key Responsibilities:
  • Project identification: Lead efforts to evaluate potential distributed energy projects brought forward by the Business Development team, considering factors such as technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and financial viability.
  • Project design: Oversee the engineering design for distributed energy projects in alignment with company goals and client requirements.
  • Project management: Oversee all construction activities associated with the buildout of DER projects. Direct project managers, construction managers, contractors, suppliers, and engineers to ensure that work is completed safely, on time, on budget, and built to the highest standard.
  • Financial analysis: Develop and deploy solutions that meet the company's financial viability requirements together with the financial parameters of our clients.
  • Technology evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate agreements with technology and contracting vendors as needed to deploy Rodan DER's offered services. These technologies will include Electrical and Thermal Energy Storage with available UPS functionality, Microgrid and Load Controls, Solar PV and Thermal, CHP with Engines or Fuel Cells, Geo-exchange, Electric Vehicles Chargers, and other technologies as they emerge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree in Electrical or Mechatronic engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PEng.) designation preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project development, renewable energy, energy consulting, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing energy projects from concept to completion, including site identification, permitting, and construction.
  • Strong understanding of distributed energy technologies, market trends, regulatory frameworks, and financial modeling principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, evaluate risks, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
