The Opportunity:

The Petroleum Mechanic 3 is responsible for executing plant repairs and general maintenance, overseeing customer site installations and maintenance, conducting plant and customer site inspections, and coordinating with internal teams and third-party contractors. The PM3 will ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with sales and HSE teams to drive operational excellence. They will also perform extensive driving, maintain the service vehicle, conduct site-specific hazard assessments, handle administrative tasks, and manage inventory.

Responsibilities:

Bulk Plant:

  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory bodies (TSSA, MOE, MOF, etc.) and Parkland policies/procedures, following best business practices.
  • Provide technical support relative to scheduled projects - special maintenance and capital upgrades.
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn for all tasks.
  • Conduct weekly inspections at multiple bulk plant locations, including equipment reviews, site measurements, and monthly OWS samples for lab submission.
  • Use eM+ Equipment Maintenance Platform to schedule repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Maintain spill response supplies (absorbents, booms, socks, etc.).
  • Remove/pump precipitation from dikes as needed.
  • Collaborate with distribution and inventory teams.
  • Perform minor site maintenance.
  • Enter safety-related data into tracking software.
  • Provide site orientations and technical guidance.

Commercial Service Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cardlock inspections and minor maintenance on dispensers.
  • Use the eM+ Equipment Maintenance Platform for scheduling repairs, maintenance, and new installations.
  • Install and repair fuel tanks, gauges, and pumping systems at customer sites.
  • Oversee removal of product from tanks for disposal or storage.
  • Manage removal of empty tank systems from sites.
  • Ensure depots meet Parkland and regulatory specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and metrics across multiple sites in central Ontario.
  • Collaborate with sales on job details and code compliance.
  • Evaluate and assist with fuel tank installations for commercial sites.
  • Work with the service coordinator to manage customer needs and optimize assets.
  • Assist with job paperwork and compliance reporting.
  • Stay updated on site-specific requirements and needs.
  • Plan and execute service calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Handle administrative duties, including ordering parts, completing work orders and invoicing, and assisting with shop-related tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and remain flexible.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Super Branch Operational Support:

  • Safely execute daily tasks using appropriate PPE in accordance with company policies and procedures; report any unsafe acts.
  • Perform site-specific hazard assessments as required by company safety policies.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle inspections; maintain company vehicles, inventory and ensure clean and aligned with company image standards.
  • Schedule service unit for maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist co-workers as required by need.

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education from a technical trade school is an asset.
  • Requires certification from a technical institute and three to five+ years of experience.
  • Petroleum Mechanic Level 3 (PM3) as issued by TSSA is required.
  • Petroleum Mechanic Level 2 (PM2) is an asset.
  • DZ Drivers License is an asset.
  • Strong Self Starter - Moderate supervision within established policies, practices, and guidelines with limited work autonomy.
