Senior Claims Adjuster, Casualty

As a Senior Casualty Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, negotiating, and resolving moderate to serious Auto Bodily Injury, Property Damage Liability, and Commercial General Liability claims.

You will also act as a mentor for junior team members, providing guidance to help them develop their skills and advance within the unit.

What will you do?

  • Investigate, interpret coverage, negotiate, and make decisions autonomously to resolve moderate to serious Auto Bodily Injury, Property Damage Liability, and Commercial General Liability claims.
  • Contact claimants, clients, lawyers, and witnesses during the investigation and resolution of claims.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, and proactively propose solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
  • Coach, train, and provide technical support within the team.
  • Manage and provide direction to legal counsel on litigated files.
  • Proactively manage your desk by adhering to deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining timely & accurate reserves.

What will you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of Claims adjusting experience.
  • 2+ years handling Auto Bodily Injury, Property, and Commercial General Liability claims is preferred.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or actively pursuing.

Permanent, Full-Time

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role. In-office workdays are Wednesday and Thursday at either our Cambridge or Toronto offices.
