We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their HR career who's excited to learn and grow in a generalist role. You'll get hands-on experience across key HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and more.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources this role is the primary point of contact for Canadian employees, supporting day to day operations of core HR activities (new hire onboarding and orientation sessions, offboarding, benefits administration, maintaining HR records in HRIS, leave administration, policy & legislative guidance). This role requires strong analytical skills including being proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

With a flexible hybrid work schedule, you can enjoy the best of both worlds—engaging in-person collaboration at our Ottawa office, while also benefiting from the autonomy and comfort of remote work. This role will be working 3+ days in-office per week at our Ottawa, ON office.

What You'll Do:

HR Operations & Employee Engagement

  • Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation sessions.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and answering employee questions.
  • Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Respond to routine HR inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Help monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Support performance review and feedback processes.
  • Administration of compensation programs; annual merit increases, market research, annual discretionary bonus program etc.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives, training sessions, and company events.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to enhance HR processes and systems.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, and compliance efforts.

HRIS and Reporting

  • Assist in maintaining the HRIS including data entry, audits, and system updates
  • Troubleshoot user issues and provide basic support to employees and HR team members
  • Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits and clean-up activities
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support HR metrics and decision-making
  • Document HRIS processes and support training efforts for new system users
  • Help with system testing during upgrades or new feature implementations
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure HR data flows smoothly across systems
  • Stay current on HR technology trends and recommend improvements as needed

Who You Are:

You're a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have:

  • 2-3 + years of Human Resources operations experience, ideally in a global high-tech environment.
  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or in a related field.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports to address business information requests.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets and high impact PPT presentations
  • Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems, specific experience with ADP would be an asset.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Results-oriented problem solver with high attention to detail and quality of output.
  • Strong analytical skills with a quantitative mindset.
  • A team player: ability to adapt to different styles and to develop cooperative relationships with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
