Canad Inns is Manitobas premier hospitality provider, operating hotels, restaurants, banquet facilities, and entertainment venues across Winnipeg, Brandon, Portage la Prairie, and Grand Forks under its renowned "Made in Manitoba" brand. TheManager, Communications & Marketingwill take the lead on internal and external communications while continuing to support marketing initiatives across our properties.This hands-on, mid-level roleworks closely with our hotels, restaurants, and corporate teams. Its ideal for someone with strong writing and relationship-building skills, media experience, and the ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders from vendors and media partners to internal staff and senior leaders.
What youll do:
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead internal communications strategy and support messaging across departments and locations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and act as a spokesperson for Canad Inns properties
- Draft press releases, speeches, internal memos, and executive communications
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including hotel and restaurant managers, operations leaders, and senior executives
- Collaborate with community and corporate partners on public-facing initiatives and sponsorships
- Support crisis communications and issue management
Marketing & Brand Support
- Work with our external marketing vendors and agencies to ensure consistent brand messaging
- Oversee campaign execution for promotions, events, and seasonal offerings particularly in restaurants and entertainment spaces
- Provide content and copy for digital platforms, signage, and guest-facing materials
- Coordinate photography, videography, and storytelling across the properties
Vendor and Media Relations
- Manage relationships with marketing suppliers, printers, ad partners, and public relations firms
- Maintain an up-to-date media list and proactively pitch stories related to Canad Inns people, properties, and community initiatives
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital and traditional media
- Comfortable representing a brand as a spokesperson or media contact
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- Experience working with vendors, managing timelines, and coordinating deliverables
- Bonus if you have hospitality, tourism, or event-related experience
