About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Shop Hand to join our team! This position will be responsible for identifying moving parts within the shop to ensure efficient production flow and support Assembly technicians. This role involves monitoring inventory levels and reporting on materials. The Shop Hand will assist in the assembly of tools while ensuring compliance with quality control standards.

Position Details

• Position Status: Full-Time, Contract (3-months)
• Location: Calgary, AB
• Shift: Day (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identifying parts to be put into production line.
• Ensuring work packages are attached to the correct basket.
• Loading rollers with baskets including putting a tray on the rollers.
• Receiving, picking, and sorting office supplies, parts, tools, and magnesium stock.
• Conducting Pre-Use Inspections of mobile equipment.
• Operating equipment including hand tools, pallet jack, and forklift, crane.
• Assist in the assembly of tools, focusing on O-rings, seals, set screws, and sleeves.
• Ensure compliance with quality control standards in preparing tools for assembly, testing, and shipping.
• Manual and mechanical lifting/moving equipment, materials, and supplies which can include setting up and operating.
• Performing routine housekeeping around the shop.
• Occasional photocopying, printing, and other job duties assigned as required.
• Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.
• Participating in any training provided by the employer.
• Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
• Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Shipping and receiving experience.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate through shipping app and SharePoint.
• Experience with utilizing various hand tools.
• Capable of moving heavy equipment, materials, and supplies up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
