Now Hiring: Supervisor, Road Maintenance (Competition #25-42)
Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Supervisor, Road Maintenance position in the Road Maintenance & Drainage Department. Reporting to the Manager, Road Maintenance, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of road maintenance programs throughout Parkland County. This position is responsible for the supervision and leadership of Road Maintenance staff, coordination of work activities and resources and planning and maintaining roadway programs. Assistance and collaboration are also required in other Road Maintenance & Drainage services as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- At least five (5) years' experience directly related to the construction and maintenance of roadways with a minimum of two years experience in a leadership capacity.
- Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of Heavy-Duty Equipment.
- Experience using Asset Management Systems.
- Leadership experience and proven ability to motivate a team.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required. A Class 3Q Operators license would be considered an asset.
A starting annual salary of $90,500 to $101,800 based on a 40-hour work week. This position will participate in an on-call rotation for Road Maintenance & Drainage operations.
