Position: Regional Sales Manager – Western Region (fully remote)
Mersen Office Location: 6200 Kestrel Road, Mississauga, Ontario
Reports To: VP. Distribution Sales and Customer Care Canada
Position Start Date: June 2, 2025
The Regional Sales Managers will oversee the sales and marketing functions for the assigned region. This role is responsible for generating product demand and managing the product's movement through the appropriate marketing channels.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and support Manufacturer Representatives to achieve regional sales goals.
- Lead and deliver professional seminars in the assigned region, either in response to end-user requests or as part of proactive marketing efforts. Conduct in-house fuse school training sessions as required.
- Provide professional technical support to the field as needed.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Marketing Plan for the region, including target markets, rep activities, distribution strategies, pricing, promotional materials, trade show participation, and sales/expense budgets.
- Continuously conduct market research to identify new product opportunities and provide feedback to management.
- Monitor and control expenses within the assigned region to ensure budget compliance.
- Utilize Salesforce for customer sales tracking and internal reporting.
- Create and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
- Drive growth in all aspects of the assigned territory in alignment with the budget.
- Contribute to and support the broader Mersen strategic plan.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Technology.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a senior technical sales position.
- Strong customer facing interaction and communication skills, capable of presenting technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences at customer and industry events.
- Self-directed and takes initiative
- Strong market knowledge, experience, and industry contacts.
- Technical expertise in the electrical field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with customers in the assigned territory.
- Up to 50% travel (includes day trips), often on short notice, by air or car
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
