The Town of Wasaga Beach, Recreation Team is seeking part-time Head Cheer Coach and Cheer Instructor. We are looking for passionate and energetic Cheer Instructors to lead and inspire participants in cheerleading programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for teaching fundamental cheer skills, including cheers, stunts, tumbling, and dance routines, while ensuring a fun, safe, and supportive environment. This role involves fostering teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship among participants. The ideal candidate(s) will have a strong background in cheerleading or coaching, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to different skill levels.
MINIMUM PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18+ years of age;
- Experience in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, or coaching.
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire;
- Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check; and
- Must be willing to work evenings.
- Minimum NCCP Certified Level 2 or Trained Competition 1 Coaching credentials;
- Able to develop, implement and deliver course/program curriculum;
- Supervise program participants, ensure staff – participant ratios are met;
- Provide leadership to program instructors, assistants, and volunteers;
- Maintain communication with program participants and/or students and parents to provide updates;
- Provide exceptional customer service and promote Town of Wasaga Beach Recreation programs;
- Responsible for communications with Recreation Programmer and disseminating; appropriate information to program participants and staff;
- Track attendance, stats and develop program reports;
- Maintain sport, coaching or instructing accreditation and good standing with accrediting organization;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Completion of Old NCCP Level 1 Technical OR Completion of NCCP Foundations Program;
- Able to implement and deliver course/program curriculum;
- Supervise program participants;
- Maintain communication with program participants and/or students;;
- Provide exceptional customer service and promote town of Wasaga Beach Recreation programs;
- Maintain sport, coaching or instructing accreditation and good standing with accrediting organization;
- Ensure safety protocol is followed and provide a safe environment for program participants; and
- Other duties as assigned.
