Tridon Communications is currently seeking a highly skilled Site Supervisor to lead a team responsible for communication projects, on-site in Kitimat, BC. *** Temporary housing and relocation package provided.
Job Summary:
As the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians involved in the installation and service of a variety of communication systems, including structured cabling, fiber optics, radio systems, security infrastructure, and networks. You will serve as one of the primary points of contact for clients on-site, ensuring the successful execution of projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands on leadership role requiring in-depth technical knowledge and ability to carry out the work when necessary.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Supervise and oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling (Cat 5E, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic), radio communications systems, security systems, and networking components.
- Lead a team of technicians, providing hands-on support and guidance throughout project phases.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, wiring codes, and safety protocols.
- Review and approve high-level estimates for larger projects ($25k-$100K) and smaller jobs ($1k-$25K), working closely with Senior Managers to ensure project scopes and quotes are accurate.
- Manage the day-to-day project details, ensuring materials, schedules, and resources are properly allocated and documented.
- Coordinate and supervise the service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications networks, including security and radio systems.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, enforcing safety protocols and ensuring a safe and organized working environment.
- Provide mentorship and training for technicians to ensure adherence to best practices and safety standards.
- Conduct weekly toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices and discuss operational procedures.
- Represent Tridon Communications professionally when interacting with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee maintenance and inspection of fleet vehicles, equipment, and company tools.
- Manage performance evaluations and assist with career development for team members.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure project timelines and budget requirements are met.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in a related field is an asset (diploma preferred).
- Certification or training in TE Connectivity, CommScope Systimax, Belden, Corning, or other related manufacturers is a plus.
- Extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling, fiber optics, radio communication systems, security systems, and networking components.
- Knowledge of telecommunications network requirements, wiring standards, electrical wiring codes, and security infrastructure.
- Valid full driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a proven ability to lead a team.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
