Our Community Wellness Team offers a diverse range of programs and workshops to engage people in meaningful activities that create opportunities to grow important coping and life skills, build their resilience, and support people to feel a sense of connection to their community.
As a Driver in our Community Wellness Program, you'll provide safe, welcoming access to those who live in both urban and rural areas. You will help empower individuals to participate in our programs and/or access other community services and resources, helping them to explore and support their own wellness needs and interests, and build a sense of purpose and belonging in their community.
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 3 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
  • What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is $20.92 per hour (Level 1 of the Program Support I);
    • Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8, $26.94 per hour
    • Internal applicants will be placed on the grid based on their seniority
  • When you'll work – 28 hours bi-weekly; Scheduled between Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
  • What your benefits will be - 9% in lieu of benefits
  • Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
  • Provide transportation to/from the sites for individuals living in various locations in the county
  • Provide additional transportation of clients needing access to services as required, subject to availability
  • Ensure safe transportation environment by assisting with basic servicing of organization vehicles, e.g. gas, cleaning off the windows in the winter, etc.
  • Identify and report to identified supervisory staff, any emergency situations concerning person(s) or property, as per organization procedures
  • Perform other related duties as directed

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements

We Require the Following Qualifications:
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e. original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript)
  • Valid Driver's Licence, adequate insurance and access to a vehicle to carry out job duties
  • Clear Driver's Abstract
  • Ability to attend work regularly

We Prefer the Following Qualifications:
  • Experience working with people with mental illness and/or addictions challenges
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle and general maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of First-Aid, CPR, fire, health and safety procedures
  • Bilingual both official languages, preferred; préférence sera accordée aux candidats qui sont compétents dans les deux langues officielles du Canada
