This role

As our DevOps Engineer, you'll be working with our Global Engineering team and will be instrumental in shaping infrastructure engineering and cloud-native deployment strategies.

Your key focus areas will be:

    • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and manage cloud environments using AWS services including CodeDeploy, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead and maintain our IaC practices with Pulumi & Terraform (and Terragrunt as a bonus)
    • CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and optimize continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Github Actions for streamlined and automated deployments.
    • Observability & Monitoring: Implement and maintain observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Cloudwatch, and Honeycomb to monitor system health, performance, and compliance.
    • Stateful Systems Familiarity: Architect and support stateful systems including MS SQL PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and Kafka, ensuring high availability and reliability.
    • Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to industry-standard compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001:2013, GDPR) and implement robust security practices across all systems.
    • Container Orchestration: Design and manage Kubernetes-based container orchestration systems and support microservice architectures, including service mesh integration and secret management.
Who you are

To thrive at Humi, you'll need to embody The EH Way - operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you'll also bring:

    • Deep AWS Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
    • IaC Proficiency: Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
    • CI/CD & Version Control: Expertise in configuring CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions and managing code repositories in Github.
    • Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration, microservice architectures, and advanced observability solutions.
    • Solid background in managing stateful systems like PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and Kafka.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine tasks and integrate systems.
    • Demonstrated experience with compliance requirements (SOC2, ISO 27001:2013, GDPR) in a production environment.

  • You'll also have access to a wide range of benefits that include: a very generous paternity leave policy, subsidised egg freezing (so you can make the choice that's right for you, on your terms), a WFH office expense budget, and outstanding learning & development opportunities
