Position Summary:
Reporting to the Program Manager, this position provides project leadership, coordination, planning, direction and supervision of Release 2a for the Program.
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes following company procedures to acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver the project according to plan.
The Project Manager will also work to achieve the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
The company is engaged with a program to replace its legacy insurance platform. This program has been underway for some time and the company has engaged the services of a partner who is leading the development work required.
In May of 2025 the company is starting Release 2a. There is currently project management in place will be transitioning off the project resulting in the company seeking the services of an experienced project manager to lead this important phase.
The project involves on-site and remote work, requiring seamless coordination and management to ensure successful delivery.
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate that they have successfully delivered technology projects and are comfortable operating in an environment where there can be multiple strong opinions across the project. There can be differences between internal project team members and our partner, and where the expectations of Business leads may not always be aligned with the project.
The Project Manager will also have a good understanding of hybrid project delivery with multiple delivery streams.
Responsible for the overall project success by aligning vendors and vendor work with the internal company goals. Achieved through individual responsibility to:
- Monitoring and reporting on all aspects of the project, raise issues and risks in a timely and collaborative manner ensuring that escalation paths are established, followed and are executed in a collaborative fashion.
- The incumbent will:
- Manage the work streams that support the 2a development project, including working to a defined scope, schedule and budget.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the developer partner project manager responsible for the development work
- Work closely and collaboratively with the company Business and Program Sponsors.
- Work closely with the Product Owners to ensure delivery meets expectations.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the company Program Manager, creating an environment that is efficient and effective between the project and program. Participating in program activities and deliverables as required.
- Ensure all team members are aligned with project objectives
- Ensure project deliverables are aligned to achieving the programs objectives
- Maintain accurate project documentation stored to program specifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to demonstrate experience with building trust with team members in a short period of time
- Ability to decipher a lot of information from a variety of intensely passionate stakeholders, identify the core essentials and bring people to a decision in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to identify where roadblocks exist, where decisions are required and implement actions to reduce project churn and maintain momentum.
- Must be able to bring people along with decisions
- Strong communicator verbal and written.Communication must be clear and consistent across ALL stakeholders, providing regular status reporting
- Previous experience with IT projects essential
- Familiar with leading teams to the establishment of Minimum Viable Product.
- Familiar with Salesforce technology, development and deployment
- Experience with Agile, waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies.
- Familiar with Azure DevOps as an Agile project delivery tool.
Required Qualifications
- 6 plus years of related experience in technology project management
- PMP certification desirable
- College/undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Business Administration required (equivalent work experience will be considered).
