GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc. is experiencing rapid growth, and we are looking a Technical Development Manager to lead our product development. As the Technical Development Manager for Product Development, you will lead a team of engineers and developers in designing, building, and delivering innovative product solutions. You will focus on driving technical excellence throughout the product development lifecycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that products are developed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to guide teams toward successful product delivery

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers in the development of new products.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance skills and career growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure clear communication, alignment, and efficient collaboration between technical teams and stakeholders.

Product Development & Strategy:

  • Work closely with product managers, product owners and business stakeholders to understand market requirements, customer needs, and product vision.
  • Drive the technical design, architecture, and implementation of new product features and functionalities.
  • Ensure products are scalable, reliable, and secure, while meeting business objectives and timelines.

Agile Delivery:

  • Continuously assess and manage risks, obstacles, and resource constraints.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, marketing, QA) to ensure alignment and successful product releases.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Collaborate with product owners, and QA teams to define requirements, plan sprints, and ensure product features meet customer expectations.
  • Regularly communicate product development progress, challenges, and opportunities with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new products with existing systems, infrastructure, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with platform team and architects to incorporate platform modernization and improvement.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Promote best practices in software development, including version control, testing, code quality, and documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive product innovation and improve technical capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Technical Ownership & Problem Solving:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on technical challenges and help resolve issues that arise during product development.
  • Lead technical problem-solving efforts and make key decisions related to design, architecture, and product features.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).Strong experience in product development and delivering successful software products.Proven track record of working with product management teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Expertise in agile methodologies and managing product development through iterative cycles.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing product development teams.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of product architecture, databases (SQL, NoSQL), and software design patterns.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Redux or Elm or related value-oriented design frameworks with unidirectional date-flow architecture.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a development team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities, balancing technical debt, and meeting deadlines
