Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Measurement Consultant with a strong foundation in Alberta's regulatory landscape - specifically EPAP (Enhanced Production Audit Program), MARP (Measurement, Accounting, and Reporting Plan Requirements for Thermal Bitumen Schemes), and AER Directive 017. This role supports clients to ensure compliance, improve operational efficiency, and audit readiness across Western Canada's upstream sector.

Key Responsibilities

EPAP & MARP Compliance:

  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of EPAP assessments and measurement reviews.

  • Maintain current knowledge of Directive 017, EPAP and MARP requirements, applying them in practical client contexts.

  • Assist in identifying and correcting non-conformities and audit triggers.

Measurement Audits & Reporting:

  • Work closely with senior measurement specialists to resolve regulatory and third-party audit queries.

  • Provide measurement guidance related to metering, allocations, and facility reporting standards.

  • Navigate reporting systems including Petrinex, OneStop, and IRIS.

Project Delivery & Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain metering schematics and measurement documentation packages.

  • Contribute to the creation of client-facing reports and letters that communicate findings, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance regulatory workflows and measurement accuracy.

Regulatory Interpretation & Client Support:

  • Translate AER expectations into operational best practices.

  • Act as a point of contact for clients needing practical support in applying regulatory requirements across their operations.

  • Proactively identify measurement efficiency opportunities and regulatory gaps.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative team culture focused on mentorship and innovation

  • Exposure to a wide variety of regulatory projects and clients

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package

  • Opportunities for career progression in emissions and regulatory consulting

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas operations, with at least 1 year in measurement and/or regulatory reporting.
  • Working knowledge of:

    • EPAP program principles and audit preparation

    • MARP and Directive 017 requirements

    • Directive 60

    • Data and facility tracking systems (e.g., Petrinex, IRIS, OneStop)

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills for both internal and client-facing documentation.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general business software.

  • Ability to travel to client sites and field locations across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
