Job DescriptionBantrel has an exciting opportunity for Civil/Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering students to support our field engineering team this summer. Reporting to the Project Field Engineering Manager, you will support various active potash mining construction projects in Saskatchewan. The positions will be starting in May 2025 for a 4 month term.

Duties & Responsibilities (may include and are not limited to):
- Assists construction supervision in planning construction methods and procedures. Coordinates engineering or construction problems with superintendents.
- Assist with preparation of construction working drawings for the use of superintendents as required, including:
- Temporary construction facilities.
- Field sketches of revisions and additions and preparing “as built” drawings.
- Reviews design drawings, study Interference problems and reviewing related vendor drawings and installation instructions.
- Support preparation of field bulk material purchase requisitions, including estimating the quantities and material takeoffs of the field purchases of materials.
- Assists in coordination of vendor material deliveries, storage of materials, expediting and engineering reports related to the schedule.
- Assist with projections and schedules for manpower, material and equipment requirements.
- Coordinates processing of field change notices, extra work orders and back charge notices.
- Supports cost estimate preparation, including reviews project design and engineering bills of materials.
- Maintains records of costs and quantity information, evaluates data, and prepares applicable reports as requested by project management.
- Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Maintains updated subcontractor schedules, as assigned.
- Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings and specifications.
- Additional duties as required.
- Must be enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university. Preference will be given to Civil/Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering programs
- You will have completed 3 years of your engineering program by April, 2025
- Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community.
- Interest in field engineering, engineering design and complex projects.
- Previous work experience will be considered an asset.
- Technical experience with design calculations, modeling tools and software, ability to use data-centric design tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) will be preferred.
