Process Engineer

Location: Barrie, Ontario area

Type: Full-time

Salary: $70k-$90k / year + bonus

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of manufacturing project(s), while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. You will maintain knowledge of larger landscapes without neglecting granular details while tracking project health, staying alert for risk and resolving issues as they arise.
Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement projects throughout their life cycles for Supply Chain and Operations
  • Developing and distributing various technical documents such as Work Instructions and Procedures related to Operations and Supply Chain
  • Taking the lead on Operations and Supply Chain tasks for new product launches and process improvements
  • Maintaining clear communication about the project's progress to the broader project team
  • Collaborating closely with Commercialization teams as well as other cross functional departments to ensure the projects do not interfere in the day-to-day operations
  • Creating plans to accelerate or mitigate any challenges that arise during the process
  • Oversee training for operational stakeholders on new product changes and SKUs, ensuring smooth implementation onsite for production, shipping, inventory, and engineering teams
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and project requirements
  • Assist Operational leaders in executing various operations projects, both strategic and tactical in nature, involving broad stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include planning, documentation, training, trials, and seamless management of connections with other projects
  • Track deliverables and ensure all downstream areas are ready for commercial projects
  • Maintain standards and monitor scope with project quality and monitor and report on project progress
  • Present to stakeholders' reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess result of project


Requirements:

  • Engineering diploma or degree preferred with Industrial Engineering focus
  • 4+ years' experience in project management, especially larger projects
  • Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent
  • Experience in Agile teams
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
  • Knowledge of various equipment used in production and packaging
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Proficiency in project management software tools & Office Suites (Excel,PowerPoint, Projects, etc.)
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Sustains productivity levels even during intense or stressful periods
