Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Manager of Field Supply Chain to join our Energy team. The Manager of Field Supply Chain will work with the business to oversee and lead our strategic initiatives in Supply Chain Management for the organization. The Manager of Field Supply Chain will have extensive expertise in Construction Supply Chain Management with end-to-end Supply Chain knowledge, excellent collaboration skills to engage with partners across the organization and ensure corporate success.

The Manager of Field Supply Chain plays a vital role in supporting Bantrel's Vision by embodying the company's Mission and Values in all interactions—whether within the organization, with clients, or with third parties. As an integral member of the Management Team, this leader provides guidance and support to drive the successful execution of Bantrel's corporate and project initiatives, ensuring the achievement of key goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides functional direction to all Field Supply Chain personnel and monitors Field Supply Chain operations to assure that all activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements and applicable Policies, Directives, Management Instructions, Corporate Procurement Procedures and functional guidelines.
  • Interviews applicants and makes recommendations regarding the selection assignment and compensation of new Field Supply Chain personnel.
  • Directs the staffing of projects with Field Supply Chain personnel.
  • Evaluates performance and completes reviews of direct reports.
  • Recommends salary actions, classification changes, personnel development, terminations, rotation, transfers, and conducts career discussions.
  • Reviews bid tabulations for accuracy, completeness, and authorized approval when executing commitments within delegated authority, or reviews with higher approval authority when required.
  • Provides guidance to project supervisors in the development of project job hour estimates and monitors the performance of work within approved budgets in concert with the Field Supply Chain Supervisors and Project Supply Chain Managers.
  • Responsible for field Purchasing and Expediting: Inspection Coordination; Traffic and Logistics; Home Office Contracts / Sub-Contract Administration; field Material Receipt and Management, Fabrication and Module shop purchasing, warehousing, material management and Site Contracting / Sub-Contracting requirements.
  • Provides recommendations for variances to functional manuals from the viewpoint of project operations.
  • Participates in proposal efforts and budget preparation for proposal work and in preparation of project implementation procedures.
  • Approves budgets, work hours and estimates for proposal and project Supply Chain activities.
  • Participates in operational and/or project reviews and audits.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 20 years in the function of Supply Chain is required.
  • Prior EPC industry experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role is required.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Law, Engineering or Construction Management is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Purchasing; Expediting: Inspection Coordination; Traffic and Logistics; Contracts / Sub-Contract Administration; Field Purchasing, Field Material Receipt and Management, Fabrication and Module shop purchasing, warehousing, material management and Site Contracting / Sub-Contracting requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial management and experience in project planning and operations, including both office and jobsite locations.
  • A thorough knowledge of Engineering, Construction and Quality procedures is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of international commercial conditions and implications is essential with demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Manages the function and administration of the Field Supply Chain organization and provides in-depth functional support and guidance to Project Supply Chain Management personnel.

  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity and a high degree of Emotional Intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Stakeholders including Clients, Senior Leaders, and frontline employees.
