Summary/Objective

The Supply Chain Manager is accountable for key metrics and management in the functional areas of purchasing, shipping & receiving, inventory and warehouse management and scheduling.

Essential Functions: Materials Management

  • Manages the overall materials function including; Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Inventory management.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust, accurate cycle count program to ensure the responsible management of all inventory, including, but not limited to raw materials & finished goods that meets or exceeds KPI targets.
  • Engage team members in receiving incoming raw materials and shipping outgoing finished goods while ensuring location accuracy, order completeness, documentation accuracy and specified condition of shipments.
  • Work closely with production team to ensure KPI OTD targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and manage an inventory budget that effectively utilizes working capital and inventory reserves to meet operations/customer demand
  • Establishes an effective inventory control plan for the warehouse that keeps products turning in line with demand
  • Ensure the completion of paperwork for internal tracking for both raw materials and finished goods, bills of lading, purchase receipts, invoices, unfilled orders
  • Establish effective purchasing practices and strategies to maintain resin supplies and aim for favorable purchased price variance.
  • Identify opportunities to achieve department metrics and drive customer satisfaction
  • Oversee the manufacturing schedule to meet customers delivery requirements while balancing the manufacturing capacity resources available
  • Lead the materials team in supporting sales, customer service and production requirements
  • Ensures material handling equipment is inspected as required by legislation for defects and the appropriate action is taken while maintaining vehicle maintenance reports and checklists and ensures the warehouse is maintained to housekeeping standards
  • Manages a team of shippers/receivers to ensure appropriate performance management, labor coverage, vacation planning time and attendance for payroll on a regular basis
  • Ensures all BOM are setup properly and up-to-date
  • Utilizes ERP
  • Comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and third-party relevant requirements in a continuing effort to improve pollution prevention strategies.

Essential Functions: Commercial Business

  • With assistance from the sales team develop the quarterly and yearly sales plan
  • Update sales plan for financial forecast updates F1 and F2
  • Track monthly progress to sales plan and develop sales contingencies to ensure delivery of forecast
  • Participate in price reviews with Executive and Plant leadership team
  • Champion customer issues within plant leadership team for resolution
  • Provided leadership to Customer Service Representatives
  • Lead, coach and develop teams to build a culture of engagement, collaboration, accountability

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of Materials, Shipping/Receiving and Customer Service departments and is responsible for the performance management and participation in the selection process of the employees in that department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may occasionally require extended hours and/or weekend work.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • 5-7 years management experience in materials, supply chain and/or production in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent employee/customer/supplier relationship building skills
  • Information gathering, critical thinking and problem analysis skills
  • Strong execution, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Experience with MRP and inventory management software
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office/ Work/ Excel
