JOB SUMMARY
The Network Manager of Talent and Human Resources guides the implementation of the full scope of people-related processes, services, and policies to attract, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing employees; leads CPF on attracting and retaining the best people, and advises on a variety of human resource management issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enhances organization with human resources processes by leading and working directly in support of our Networks board of directors and as a liaison with the Executive Directors (EDs):
- Planning, recommending, developing, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, processes, and programs to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Recommending, developing, and establishing a full recruitment process; counseling on candidate selection; scheduling and supporting completion of staff job evaluations; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending and implementing changes as required.
- Managing a fair pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Enforces management guidelines to CPF by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Maintains the work structure for the organization by updating job requirements, job descriptions, and performance reviews for senior staff positions. Responsible for providing education to new Executive Directors by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Provides support to both organizations in planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results; in coaching and disciplining employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
Implement and administer CPF employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends, recommending benefit programs to management, directing the processing of benefit claims, obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids, awarding benefit contracts, and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
Conducts periodic employee surveys to measureemployee satisfactionandengagement in the organization.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource provincial/territorial and federal requirements, including development and implementation of policies, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing both organizations as required.
- Ensures compliance with applicable health and safety legislation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
You are enthusiastic, flexible, and capable of working independently and in a team setting, demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, and can work well under pressure. You possess solid computer skills (including MS Office, web analytics, Content Management System software), analytical and problem- solving abilities, organizational and time management skills as well as sound judgment. You support a workplace that embraces diversity and encourage teamwork.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English. Intermediate-level bilingualism (or higher) is essential.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- A bachelors degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience is required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in progressively responsible human resource roles/labor relations and employee relations roles.
- Experience with the BambooHR platform.
- CHRP or CHRL through the HRPA certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
- Candidates must legally be entitled to work in Canada.
- Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement and the steps involved in the Volunteer Screening
process is an asset. - Support for official languages and promoting a bilingual Canada.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
This is currently a 37.5-hour-per-week position. Office hours are Monday to Friday, typically 8:30 to 4:30, with flexibility. There may be some evening and weekend work involved in this position.
