POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the performance of financial, operational, and technical analyses, overseeing revenue audit, and managing regulatory reporting requirements. This position provides support to the Vice President of Finance by ensuring business strategies and financial goals are achieved, as well as meeting regulatory reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
- Interpret financial transactions, marketing promotions and events for the Vice President of Finance (VPF) so that the VPF can speak to marketing leaders on the effectiveness of their marketing and promotional spend.
- Use software such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
- Analyzing current and historical financial data to prepare reports and projections to compare against actual results.
- Identify trends in business and departmental performance and provide recommendations for improvement
- Responsible for providing analysis to multiple areas such as Gaming, Entertainment, F&B and Hotel
- Work with the VPF on the preparation of studies, reports, and analysis in areas such as budgets, operational strategies, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, marketing strategies and customer analysis, labor modeling, and market/industry performance.
- Ensure all OLG & COSA reporting requirements are met by assigned due dates.
- Responsible for revenue audit and regulatory gaming revenue calculations
- Support the VPF in the preparation of financial presentations and ad-hoc analysis
- Performs other duties as assigned by the VPF
- Collaborate across all functions for HRI and OLG annual business plans, budgets and forecasts
- Meet debt covenant reporting deadlines
- Support the executive team with operational analysis to implement & improve performance metrics
- Assist Accounting functions during various internal & external audits
- Assists accounting department during peak work periods in order to meet deadlines
- Comply with Departmental Standard Operating Procedures and Ontario Gaming Regulations.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, operational reviews, statistical analytics, forecasting techniques, marketing studies, and optimization analytics.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including handling multiple time-sensitive projects with competing resource demands.
- Project Multitasking: Capable of managing numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of development.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using data analysis tools, including MS Office products, and the ability to learn relevant industry-specific software.
- Effective Communication: Ability to convey complex ideas to colleagues and internal clients through strong writing and communication skills
- Deadline-Orientated: Able to work in a deadline-driven environment, consistently meeting or exceeding service level agreement requirements while providing excellent internal customer service.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and extreme confidentiality
- Knowledge: Familiarity with IFRS, computer systems and various applications
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts and schedules as needed, both independently and within a team
- Adaptability to Change: Able to manage several projects concurrently without frustration, even when priorities shift unexpectedly.
EDUCATION & EXPIERENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience in financial analysis, marketing, and operational analysis
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- SQL experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
