As Create. continues to evolve and grow, we are looking for a Carpenter to join our team! Are you a Jack or Jill-of-all-trades that loves to tackle rewarding projects? Do you enjoy creating lasting relationships? If you have a carry bag with all sorts of hand tools and a keyring on a lanyard, then this role may be perfect for you!
The Carpenter will be responsible for creating first and final impressions with our clients and have the opportunity to make it right!
Day-to-day responsibilities may include (but not limited to):
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. metals, fiberglass) according to measurements and use for install as per plans and directed
- Rough Framing as required (ie: formwork + backing)
- Finish carpentry as required (ie: hollow metal doors + frames including hardware, baseboard casing, etc)
- Misc finishing as required (ie: flooring, roofing, drywall, paint, etc) ensuring a high level of quality and to industry standards
- Willingness to be versatile to conduct multiple scopes
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Build scaffolding or other items needed for site safety
- Misc scopes as assigned (ie: digging, rebar, tarping, snow removal, etc)
- Safety paperwork and inspections as assigned
- Loading and unloading materials by hand or using a forklift or telehandler
- Able to work in all weather and site conditions (inside work not guaranteed)
- Able to work the hours required for the project (ie: shift + overtime)

What were looking for from the candidate:
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of four years experience as a journey-level carpenter (or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
- High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required (pr equivalent)
- Certification and experience using a forklift & telehandler
