One of our companies is currently looking for a VP, Engineering in Vancouver, British Columbia, or Toronto, Ontario.

In this role, you will lead and scale an engineering team to deliver innovative software solutions that impact customers. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with other leaders across the organization to drive company-wide results. You will be responsible for shaping the engineering culture, aligning the engineering team with the company's vision, and ensuring successful execution on the product roadmap.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and articulate the strategic vision for the engineering team, ensuring transparency, alignment, and excitement around company goals.
  • Mentor and guide engineering managers and teams, helping them build their careers and deliver on key performance measures, such as productivity, efficiency, and meeting organizational goals.
  • Lead the design and execution of organizational structures for engineering teams and their counterparts in Product and UX, in collaboration with the VP of Product and CTO.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SaaS platform, including budgeting, cost control, vendor management, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives (SLOs) are met.
  • Manage communication of engineering goals, progress, and status to key stakeholders across the company, including the CEO, board, and other teams.

Requirements

  • Experience leading development teams through vision building and product execution, with a focus on fostering innovation and achieving company objectives.
  • Proven ability to scale engineering teams, ranging from 30 to 300 engineers, while maintaining strong organizational health and culture.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, recruit, and retain top talent with empathy and transparency.
  • Experience in partnering with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to deliver on a product roadmap.
  • Experience with SaaS platform management, budgeting, and operational strategies.
  • Familiarity with a modern tech stack (Python, Ruby, React, TypeScript, GCP, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, etc.) is preferred.
