Transit Driver

Location: Tofino and Ucluelet, BC

PWTransit is seeking professional Transit Drivers to join our team. Drivers will be responsible for safely transporting passengers while providing superior customer service and demonstrating strong communication skills.

Position Details:

• Probationary rate: : 480 hours or 4 months, whichever is completed first
  • First 80 hours: $25.06 per hour
  • Remaining 400 hours: $31.07 per hour
• Full-time rate - $31.32 per hour (effective upon successful completion of the probationary period)

Position Requirements:

• A valid class 1 or 2 driver's license, air brakes endorsement an asset
• Class 4 unrestricted license also accepted
• Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
• Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
• Clear criminal record
• Must be organized, punctual and reliable
• Possess excellent driving skills and habits
• Ability to read maps and navigate
• Ability to communicate effectively
• A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
• Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
• Manage passenger behavior by quickly and effectively solving problems
• Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
• Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
