Concrete Labour Weymouth

We are currently looking to hire two individuals to join our team on May 1 who live within commuting distance to Weymouth, NS. Experience working with concrete strongly preferred, however any construction experience may be an asset. Personal transportation to the work site is required.

Requirements

• Valid Drivers License & reliable transportation to work required.
• Capable of physically strenuous manual labour and poses manual dexterity.
• Can competently use basic hand tools.
• Experience prepping, forming, and finishing concrete preferred.
• Curb & sidewalk experience an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Strong communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Demolition of concrete in need of repair.
• Preparing surfaces for concrete placement.
  
• Building, installing and removing concrete forms.
  
• Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete.
• Assisting heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment
  
• Pouring, shoveling, grading and smoothing concrete.
• Responsible for the direct placement of concrete.
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete.
  
• Operating a power vibrator to compress concrete.
• Applying curing or surface treatment to laid concrete.
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to concrete
  
• Repair/resurface/replace worn or damaged concrete.
• Complete desired finished concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Other duties as required.
