About the Role:

Join our team as a Janitor and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our student-athletes. We are looking for a proactive, energetic individual who takes pride in keeping our facilities in excellent condition year-round.

Key Responsibilities:

September to June:

  • Perform routine cleaning duties in dormitories and buildings, including:

    • Cleaning and disinfecting floors, carpets, mats, bathrooms, showers, sinks, countertops, hallways, staircases, common areas, kitchens, offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, and high-touch surfaces (e.g., doors and door handles).

    • Restocking toiletries and hygiene supplies as needed.

    • Emptying waste containers regularly.

    • Ensuring all janitorial equipment (vacuums, floor polishers, mops, etc.) is maintained and in good working order.

    • Reporting maintenance and repair needs to the Director of Student Life.

July to August:

  • Conduct thorough deep cleaning and inventory of all dormitory rooms and academy buildings, including:

    • Cleaning and disinfecting walls, floors, bathrooms, and all room surfaces.

    • Inventorying rooms to ensure all furniture and items are in good condition.

    • Reporting room repair needs to the Director of Student Life.

    • Reporting replacement needs for items and furniture to ensure readiness before the new academic year.

Year-Round:

  • Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and toiletries, collaborating with the Director of Student Life to order as needed.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve cleaning strategies and efficiency.

  • Support a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students and staff.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of janitorial or cleaning experience.

  • Ability to plan tasks independently and take initiative.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and respectful attitude.

  • Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive community environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.

  • Familiarity with smart building technology is an asset.

  • Must provide a current Criminal Record and Child and Adult Abuse Registry check.
